• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Here she is! I think black was definitely the way to go on this one.

Here are my first thoughts right out the gate for anyone curious.

- The aging is very very well done. It's probably the most realistic I've seen to date. The nitro has a really nice amber to it. The checking doesn't look repetitive or distracting.
- VERY loud unplugged. I've never played a korina before and it already sounds different to me unplugged. It's extremely resonant and has a unique tone. I wouldn't even say bright. It's hard to describe. It almost sounds like a hollow body.
- The BRW is pretty much ebony like the rep told me. It's almost black. That's not necessarily good or bad. Just a matter of preference. The edges are rounded off really nicely and it's very easy to play.
- Light! Pretty much all my guitars have a bigsby or vibrola so this is a relief at 6.9 lbs.

If you ever think about picking one of these up, I can pretty safely say that you will be very pleased. I was pretty open expectation-wise and didn't want to build it up to be something that it wasn't. You just never know. Besides some of the small discrepancies others have pointed out, I don't think they could have done a better job. It looks realistic right next to my 55' Les Paul Special. And most importantly, it's a great playing guitar. IMG_6514.jpg

Thanks Cody!

I did have an interesting thought/idea about some of these aged guitars. I think the next big thing to do would be to age the fretboards as well. If they're somehow able to get that oiled in/glassy thing that happens when a guitar has been played for decades, that would be quite cool. That's the one thing that looks obviously new on any of these guitars. For the most part, I prefer non-aged guitars, but I think that would be an improvement for those in that market. (The rubber leg rest probably should have had some aging in this case as well.)

I was quoted a price of €9.5-10k for them, no idea if that was the Murphy ones or normal VOS, I declined to go any further cause I don't care enough about 'limited edition' or who makes it, I just want a really good Korina V.

The dealer I contacted was Max Guitar in the Netherlands, they're great guys and really easy to deal with so if anyone does have any interest then get in touch with them. I bought my 60th anniversary R0 from them and it was a good experience, no difficulties.

It's not only Europe. Pretty sure they're doing them domestically too at some point. Just with Indian rosewood like they usually do. That's what someone at the Gibson Garage told me.

I can only share the price of the Explorer which is close to 10.000€ in Germany as a VOS version.

I don't know whether an aged version will be available, but I don't think so since this option wasn't presented to me while ordering.
If somebody has further information I'd be thankful for sharing.

Got an answer from a store in USA: They dont have them in stock yet, they are all still on order with Gibson.
"We have them on order right now, they are priced at $9,999" (US dollars).

Is that the V price?

And - yes - Gibson Garage reached out to me to see if I wanted one, but I told them I already had a Murphy.

BTW - There are 2 Murphy's already up for sale on Reverb. Maybe one of those people would be willing to deal with non-US shipping. (Of course, it'll cost you since these guys are simply flipping.)

What about this CITES thing. I think, they will be required in this case, at least for Europe…
