• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I already own a 2016 Les Paul Traditional Light Burst that has 2 classic 57 pickups. Is there any noticeable difference between this guitar and the new standard iced tea sold by sweetwater:

Please advise before I invest money in this.

I’ve had mine for a couple of months now. Freaking awesome. RUN and get it before it’s gone, you will not regret it!

Purchased a 50’s Gold Top Standard from Sweetwater a few months ago. These new Standards are very nice. I’m diggin mine, have no complaints!

There's noticeable differences between every guitar. It's if it's that noticeable to you that matters.

The biggest difference to me is that the new Les Paul will have small frets and the 2016 will have tall frets. I went out and tried a rack of new production Les Pauls- Standards, Classics, satin Traditional, and a Studio and didn't care for them. I bought a 2014 Les Paul the following week.
