• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Hello, all ... I posted my intro in the other section a few days ago, along with some pictures of my tobacco sunburst R8. Today the R9 came from Mark's Guitar Loft. At 9lbs., it is just about the same weight as the R8, with a slightly beefier neck as well. This new one really screams, and sends the EL84s in my 65 Amps Li'l Elvis into overdrive at around 2-3 ... huge tone!

Here it is with the camera flash ...

... and here is one in natural light.

It complements the R8 quite nicely - two very different sounding Les Pauls! It is a happy day in North Dakota!

Thanks for all of the comments, and for the welcomes, too! I enjoyed my visits as a lurker, and finally faced the inevitable.

The top on this one really dances when you change the angle of the light - this picture taken at the same time as number 2 (above) from another angle makes the lower half of the top almost seem washed away. Very cool, actually.

There were more interesting and dynamic tops available at MGL, but Mark sold me on this one with his comments on tone. He doesn't need my recommendation, but for what it's worth ... I am very happy with my experience.

Very nice, I'd just give it some sunlight-fading to make it even cooler!
Welcome!
