• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

My R9 was looking good where it was sitting so I thought I'd grab the camera.

Is that an authentic "BOTB" (2003, Murphy aged, 2 serial numbers, BOTB COA)?

I've always understood that the "Joe Perry" (which this guitar is) was not part of the BOTB production number.

Could you post a photo of the COA??

Just has a regular COA, with two serial numbers. Guitar has the 'replica' Perry burst serial number on the back of the hs, and the other serial number printed inside on the control cavity lip. I think it was the first to feature this detail.

It probably isn't part of the regular botb run. I believe it was the first of that whole idea...Music Machine sold it as a botb replica, and as far as I know it was the first to be called that by Gibson. I don't believe they printed botb coa's yet.

I've seen only one other Gibson Perryburst 'botb' and I don't know if that one had a botb coa either...probably not. I've heard there were 4 perryburst's in total, but I've only actually seen that other one...there is a pic in the mylespaul thread under the original pics of my guitar. I never actually saw that other one in person...only pics. It was being sold at a NJ Guitar Center so when I found out about it, I went immediately to see it and see how close it was to mine. It was gone by the time I got there. They told me they got 10k for it...I don't believe it though. I hope they did!

Here's a pic from the Music Machine website when the then new guitar was first offered for sale...it even shows the Schaller straplocks that came with this guitar because that's what Slash had on the original at the time.
