• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

So after looking for a blonde 335 for quite a while I finally caved in yesterday and brought home this beauty. It's a 2016 Memphis 1958 ES-335 Blonde VOS that's been hanging around at my local dealer since new - can't believe this thing has never sold... I've played it a couple of times before, but for some reason it never quite caught my eye. The strings were old and bland, and a new set of .10s reaaaaally opened her up. Sounds, plays, looks and feels like a million bucks. I've had a few 335s before, but none of them felt like this one. I am a sucker for a fat neck (on guitars, not on women), and my previous 335s all had much slimmer necks. But that's only part of the reason; this one feels like a much more handmade fine instrument than the others. Maybe it's the endorphines talking, but I am really smitten with this one.

I recently purchased the burst version and love it. Like you, I really enjoy the chunky neck. In my experience, this guitar feels, sounds and plays like a vintage instrument. Mine was also purchased as new this year. I don't know how these guitars have remained a secret.

Yup! I gots one two! They ARE perfect for some reason. Fat neck, fat tone, comfortable board, excellent pickups. That run is absolutely spectacular! And it's funny you mentioned crap strings. That is how I got my Martin Golden Era D-18. It languished at GC forever 'cause it sounded like mush. Then somebody changed the strings. Fortunately I was there that day and got it half price. It is spectacular as well...

I have grown to prefer a well made unbound neck.

I don't have one of these 58's, but I will if I can. :salude

Thanks for all the kind comments, makes me even more sure it was worth every penny:).

Brought her to rehersals yesterday, and this thing roars like a banshee. Brought along my '62 strat and CC#4 but neither got a single second play time:)

Congrats on your new guitar..I also just last nite picked one up from a local guy selling the same guitar.2016 58 es 335 in natural..got a great deal on it !! Ive been wanting one for a long time..I have a 2006 58 les paul vos with a large neck and always wanted a 335 with the same neck.. Iam turning 60 this july so I treated my self a lil early !! Cant wait to spend some time with it..It really feels like a older classic guitar..one thing I hate the case it comes with..the latches suck..when I transport it ill use one of my other 335 cases for sure..again congrats on your new guitar !!
