A little belated NGD - this gem arrived just in time for xmas. I am a big fan of DC Juniors and Specials, and I have had this one on the radar for quite some time. I actually went to check it out early last year, but the seller also had a 54 Goldtop that he was thinking about selling so that one took first priority at that time:hee. Anyway, fast forward a year and I finally pulled the trigger on this beauty. It is a very clean 1958, all original apart from later double line tuners. I have a set of original single lines, but these need new buttons. Please shout out if anyone has any good leads on correct repros - no rush, but would be nice to get it 100%. Original case as well, a bit flimsy but more or less in good order.
The guitar plays well, will need some fretwork within a short time but for now it's just peachy. The pickup is AWESOME. I know it's been said before, but there is something special about a single pickup guitar that is just pure. It makes me focus more on volume and tone use, and to me it's like good italian food - less ingredients, more taste. It has a big chunky neck that's pretty darn close to perfection.
So without further ado, here are some pictures of my junior (never thought I'd write that on an internet forum...) - and one with her sisters from 1961 and 1954:
