Scored this 2016 beauty from Curt at the House of Guitars last week. Standard Historic '59 reissue in Lemonburst gloss finish. Tons of movement in the top. I love the way it flickers and flashes as you view it from different angles. Nice dark fingerboard and straight grained back. Really digging the tone. This one has a little more grit, grind, and punch than my other Pauls. The Custombuckers read 7.97 k at both the bridge and the neck. Neck is beefy with more shoulder than other recent Historics I've played and a very slight V shape for the first 5 – 7 frets. I’m glad they brought the 2014 specs back with these Standard Historics because they are NICE.
Big thank you to Curt for finding this one for me. He was great to work with and spent a lot of time sending me pics and answering questions until we found one with the color and flame I wanted. This is my second historic from Curt and I’ll definitely call him again.
