Yes Gibson is Notorious with there heavy hand on there dealers. Thats why buying second had is the way to go. Check out some of the guys on here selling for your next one.Thank you very much everybody for your kind replies. There was a very interesting story about how I got this beauty. I was initially looking for a used R9 on an APP specialized for individuals to sell their used items. This one popped up with a really attractive price. I doubted that of course but soon I found out the seller was just 10 mins drive from my place, then I thought why not go there and check it out, it would not hurt just take a look at it.
After I arrived the place I realized that the place was the warehouse of an authorized dealer of Gibson, the seller on the APP was the boss of that dealer. He told me the reasons why he advertised on used item trading APP:
1. Each Gibson dealer has to have some minimum order quantity, especially for those authorized custom shop dealers;
2. Gibson does not allow its dealer to sell at a discount, which means the dealers cannot show a discounted price in their store or website.
In order to sell as many as he possibly can to fulfill the order quantity that Gibson has imposed on him, he advertized on used item trading app, attract people to come with lower price and get the deal done at a discounted price face to face.
I was lucky enough to get a brand new R9 from an authorized dealer at a much lower price.
Sorry for my English I am from China. Thanks again for all your kind replies!
Marks Guitar Loft would be a good one to check out.
