• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I've been gassing for an ES-335 for years. So I traded my '07 CR8 for a brand new 2021 ES-335TDN.
After years of working for large guitar stores (and handpicking my guitars) this is my first online purchase and my first 'new era' Gibson.

When I opened the case, the first thing I noticed was the smell, nothing smells like a fresh nitro finish guitar. Second thing I noticed was the flawless top.
The feel is amazingly close to my mint condition 1957 ES-225T, both in neck shape and in factory fresh construction.

At first it felt a little stiff, some tweaking of the bridge fixed that easily. Typical of a new guitar, the wood still needs to come to terms with the fact that it's not a tree anymore and after about 10 hours of playing it, I am truly impressed...
What a guitar!

Congrats she looks a beauty (y) and impressed with the case padding also.
I'm hangin' out for my '58 M2M from CS, hopefully not too far away now.

Very nice! I too, have a '57 ES-225T, and my reaction to getting an ES-335 was exactly the same! Congratulations!

Congratulations on your beautiful new 335!
I've been waiting since March for my M2M '59 355 ML and realize I'm about half way through the waiting period...maybe.

I hope you really enjoy your new guitar. That would be my first choice in a 335, and in that color as well.

I just can't stop playing it. What a great guitar, Gibson has really upped their game, this thing has tone in spades. The neck is just right, not to big not to small.
Next week, I'll take it to rehearsals and shoot a couple of videos :)

Memphis finally started knocking the 3XX's outta da park in the '15 and '16 timeframe.

I am pleased as hell to see it continue!

A great 335 in your arsenal is a joy to play and hear.

Great photos, the model isn't too bad either!

Seems Gibson really are nailing it now, doesn't help with that GAS

The pics are made by Gregor Hilden from Gregsguitars.de in Germany. I got the guitar from a trade with him. And no this doesn't help with GAS but we all know what does ;)

So I took the guitar to band practice. First time playing it full volume with my Deluxe Reverb, what a great combination, these two are a perfect match!
Of course I forgot my camera but our drummer got some footage on his phone!

Prince rules!
Are you using any pedals in this clip?

I have a MXR Overrated Special but I'm not sure if it was on, maybe for the first few long notes, maybe the whole thing. I use it to clean up the bass a little bit and give it a hair more gain and sustain. The amp volume is at 9+, a hair under 10.

I think Prince used a SD-1 and a Dimension Chorus a lot, among others.
