• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Just got this from Mark's Guitar Loft and must say it was a pleasure to deal with Mark. I'll definitely be buying from him again.

Haven't had a Les Paul in about 10 years tried a bunch of Strats, Teles, Super Strats and PRSi and finally realized I'm just a Les Paul guy.

Lemonburst goodness, 9lbs even and is a huge sounding guitar.
Now the big question... pick guard or not?

Congratulations! I bought a guitar from Mark last year and he was a pleasure to deal with. Look forward to seeing the pics when you get that sorted out.

Congratulations, I purchased a sweet R8 from MGL and love it. I was glad I did not install the pickguard at first so I could have the option. But I then decided the guitar looks best with a pickguard. Also, I did do some gentle sanding of the pickguard to get it to fit better, there are some gaps that I think are normal, but kind of bothered me. Now the fit is tighter. Also, there was an annoying squeak from the pickguard flexing, so I put a small piece of felt under it and now it's perfect. Finally, I put a small piece of foam under the pickguard screw so as not to make a ding in the finish.

As far as posting photos, I created a free Flickr account and then use the media icon in the HTML editor above and then paste the shared link from Flickr. My phone is an Iphone, so I had to convert the images to jpg from heic. I'm sure there are easier ways, but that is how I added photos.

nice...!!!! and I dig the funky seam-thing going on. Nice to see someone else who likes the imperfect/non-cookie cutter tops.

I call mine the 'SAG QUEEN'.

It is a totally awesome tone monster.
How does this compare to your Matchless amp ?
