• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

my second love has always been a tele, any tele. My first tele was a '72 deluxe with dual humbuckers. Had to have Fralin rewind em about 10 years ago. Still a killer tele.

I had one of those! or something similar... 1960 custom tele (w/ 7.25 radius neck). It was one of my favorite neck shapes. I loved to play it acoustically to practice.

Congrats!

We share something in common, my first Tele was also a '72 Deluxe (brown), and similarly Tele's used to take second place to Les Paul's for me, but they've pretty much swapped positions now.

Btw, congrats on the Tele's Tony... you've scored some terrific instruments over the past few weeks :dude:

The Esquire is a 2008 NAAM Esquire.

The Fender Custom Shop built Billy Gibbons a Fender Esquire with Duncan BG-1400 stacked pickup which is actually hum-cancelling.

•Position #1. Same as standard Esquire. The pickup is routed through the volume control only, bypassing the tone control for a hotter, louder lead sound with extra highs.
•Position #2. Same as standard Esquire, with the pickup routed through the volume and tone controls. Sounds a bit warmer than position #1.
•Position #3. Pickup is routed through a single, small capacitor and volume control with the tone control bypassed. Some call this the “cocked-wah” sound.

From what I know and have found out on the inter Google Fender made one in each custom color, Billy got the black one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zcvd8h0YqrM

It's definitely one of my go to guitars and it has the most comfortable Soft V neck Profile as does the Black Custom above. :salude
