• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Nah, the plastic on the Gibson works for me. Just don’t like the black pickguard on the Epi. I do like the black knobs, but maybe I’ll dig up some good ones I have just for Shitz and giggles.

I had a Les Paul with Burstbuckers. They weren’t bad, just weren’t it for me. The Explorer has a Burstbucker 2 and a 3. I like them a lot. Full and warm clean, tight and focused when they push the amp into overdrive. Didn’t expect to like it this much.

Just built in 2022, delivered to them late last week... dealer had ordered it 2 years prior!

Pulled trigger late Saturday. It was gone over and set-up Monday, and should be here Friday.
I`m looking forward to its arrival & I am sure you are even moreso! It`s a very cool looking Explorer!

Fresh out of the box.

Plastic still on the guard, no switch tip yet... handled, inspected, and strummed acoustically. Set-up well. Bends and action very slippery. Rosewood is nice, some tasteful alternate variation, streaking. Not as dark as the really dark ones, will probably needs conditioning after some playing and string changes. Speed knobs, I love speed knobs here!

Only 8 pounds. The Costa Rican case is where the all the weight lives.

All seems well, only extremely subtle minute variation in the white finish in one spot. Probably better than most classic whites come.

So very cool! Have alot fun with that rascal!! Every day & every night!! I`m anxious for your comments about the pickup`s tones. It looks great! [so maybe even start a new thread/discussion announcing your NGD!]

Yeah, the pickups are the wildcard for me. I've asked Mat what they are supposed to be like, but haven't heard back yet. Also, there aren't very good descriptions anywhere that I can find. I would like to A/B with my other Explorer but it's packed for my move. I will have to rely on memory...

Magnifique!!!! Mine has Burstbuckers 2 and 3. But yours probably has something closer to custom shop jobs. Have to say I didn’t like the regular BBS I had on a Les Paul, long gone. But the 2&3 are fantastic. Immediate love.

I love that finish on yours!
