• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Got this from a close friend [Forum member RockinMatchless] this week.
Stunning one piece mahogany body ... almost looks like Koa! :dude:

It also came with a special humbucker mounting ring to fit that oval pickup hole.
I have been wanting [and waiting for :ganz] a "Junior" with a humbucker for almost three years now.

Oh that is some beautiful wood.

Hey I'll bet a humbucker in there should sound great.

Very nice.

Rather sad that Robin Guitars felt the need to cease production.

I spoke to David Wintz at Robin guitars about the wood.
He called it "Golden Mahogany".
I have never heard of that before. Anybody here aware of that version?

I'm going to give the Rio Blues Dog [P-90 style] a chance before I put a humbucker in there. Think I'll use it next Saturday at our next gig.

I'm guessing that was a special Avalon Sport. It is one sexy looking guitar! When you google "Robin Avalon Sport" for images, that one keeps popping up. David Wintz posted photos of it on a couple of forums a few years ago. Congrats on the new guitar. The wood & color is gorgeous.

He told me it was one of two with that special mahogany. :)

I owned that guitar. It, and it's next consecutive serial number, had that crazy mahogany.
Just before Dave died, he told me he had enough from that plank to build a 3rd one, and offered to make one for me. Then he died.
