• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Got it two days ago and haven't put the damned thing down since then. Quoting Ringo, "I've got blisters in my fingers".

Thanks a lot to Mike Slub for the fine advice on the Pete Townshend model, which I finally went for. :salude

This 2007 Pete differs from the regular J-200 Standard in the narrower neck and the LR Baggs preamp instead of the Fishman Elipse, which I personally felt as too large and obtrusive. Besides, I like to keep it simple, and a volume knob is more than enough if I need to play her amplified.

Very low action, easy to play and loud as a kindergarten full of half-meter dwarves on ecstasy. Amazing lady, I call her Ofelia.

Very nice! Where does Gibson find all that nice flamey maple? Beautiful!

Do you mean narrow at the nut or a narrow profile? I remember reading there was something narrow about the neck on those guitars but can't recall the specifics.

I have wanted to play one of those for the longest time. I am seriously considering a J-200 in the future but have to move some stuff to make that happen. I will probably opt for one with no electronics, like a True Vintage

Anyway, congratulations:salude

Thanks for the kind words, guys.

Where did you buy it? Enjoy it.

Got it from Ebay Germany, from a guy who had brought her from a US trip.

Do you mean narrow at the nut or a narrow profile? I remember reading there was something narrow about the neck on those guitars but can't recall the specifics.

I meant the neck profile was narrower than the regular J-200, the nut width feels normal to me.

Interesting choice of words for the Townshend signature!

I'm a poet at heart

Hey Frog Circus, I just got a J100 Xtra which is the simpler version of your guitar, same woods, but without the ornamentation, as in neck and headstock binding, western pickguard, or pearl in the bridge or soundhole ring. Though, I bet it sounds very similiar to yours. I've been playing it nonstop so I'm sharing your enjoyment:) Blondes have more fun!

Been recording a few demos with her the last week and must admit that the lady can bloody sing! :salude
I'm not a picker, just a basic string-scratcher, as I call myself, and it suits vocal accompaniment perfectly, great for recording singer-songwriter stuff and silly songs.

Also played a little acoustic show plugged in and was alarmed at the sheer volume of the bass, whereas normally I had to turn up the acoustic amp EQ to get that "boom". Still very balanced overall.

In a nutshell, I'm happier than Maradona in a Columbian plantation. :dude:
