• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

NGD, the wait....is over!

My new 2017 CS 59 Standard got here today from Breaze Guitars. She's a honey. Nice not too chunky '59 profile neck with rounded off edges, C shape medium to small shoulders. Around 8 1/2lbs and the color is a really sweet, nicely ambered Iced Tea shade. Well balanced set of tones, not too bright not too dark. Strong output. Havent measured the pickups but they sound a tad on the aggressive punchy side but in a good way.

It sometimes seems like such a roll of the dice to order something like this online. Hunter from Breaze Guitars will get my business in the future. This R9 is everything I could have wanted in a cool Les Paul and then some. The more I play and explore it's feel and tones the more I appreciate the hard work Gibsons Custom Shop has been putting in making the best guitars ever in the last few years. The very soft shouldered yet substantial 59 neck just feels great, the rolled edges are a huge improvement and the pickups really hit the PAF type character on the button. I can't really fault the instrument anywhere. Even the frets, which are a bit taller than I'd like normally are finished and smoothed nicely and don't inhibit playing anywhere. I may have them slighty leveled and polished up as is my preference and really that's all the guitar will ever need to be absolutely perfect IMO.
