• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Always wanted an LP so waited until I found an Epi 60's Standard with nice top grain, got it last year from Sweetwater. I just went to adjust the truss rod, used the correct 4mm Allen key wrench, and when I removed the wrench part of the truss rod assembly slid out a bit with it, looked like a silver collar came out about 3/8". It hadn't disconnected from the rod so I pushed it back in, the neck was adjusted but I called warranty service. They said they have to completely replace the guitar, it can't be repaired.

Is this correct? I'd rather keep it as I waited a while to get the wood I like.

thanks,

Rob

I would say it can't be properly repaired, thus they want to replace it. If they want to replace it, let them. A messed up truss rod trumps wood imo.
