• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Not Ebay, but an auction...

Insane, there's some absolutely beautiful pieces in there. The Super 400 flat top has blown my tiny mind.

Just a quick update.. I haven't seen any results yet, but 2 D'Angelico's ended up at my friend's shop, here on Long Island, for restoration. (He just posted them on FB). I'll find out what he's doing, and drop by the shop, for some pics, if anyone is interested.

I'm interested (very few things in the world of guitars more interesting than D'Angelico's!).

Wow!.... Mystery, intrigue, and a sketchy owner.....over 20 pages of posts...
Not sure what the take away is, there are a lot of opinions and conjecture...
I posted the Guitar Aficionado article, (to my surprise), that was shared on FB. I guess there is always a back story...... I couldn't help but think, there was a vague similarity to some of the threads you might read around here........... Again, I didn't intentionally want to wade into some morass, just thought the gits were cool, old ones, that might be interesting to some here. Thanks for sharing some behind the scenes commentary.

I found this post article comment interesting:

"The Artistry of the Guitar (the auction): consulting expert: Christopher Gill

The MoMI (the seller’s online “museum”): editor in chief Chris Gill

Guitar Aficionado: editor in chief Chris Gill"
