• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Holy Shiplap Batman! That is THE most worn board I have ever seen. Like Rickie Blackmore turned sideways.

I wouldn't totally rule out the possibility....it's only a matter of time ....

...when Gibson ramps up the Collector's Choice program again, and they will...."smart money" says they will want to do a run of Tom Murphy-aged, "Fried okra" '59 Flying Vs.... only this time the heavy aging won't take place at Tom's workshop. No, no, that would be too easy. Nope, instead Gibson will have the limited "Fried okra" '59 Flying Vs aged at the same municipal landfill in Lynchburg as the original guitar. :dude: And they won't be cheap either! :hee

ha ha. :rofl

[KANYE MODE ON] Yo Okra, I'm really happy for your score (and that your wife is out of the hospital) and Imma let you finish but…I have to ask – is that a framed skateboard deck on your wall? And if so, what’s the story behind it?

Oh, and you’ve scored one of the best guitars of all time…of all time! [/KANYE]

That appears to be an old Powell Peralta Tony Hawk model.

Neck PAF into the Welagen Overdrive Special Reverb.

Awesome sounds. The guitar speaks for itself — incredible. I take it you’re a fan of the Welagan amps? My ODS is amazing.

Not yours, but was the old Keith Richards V ever located? Your post got me thinking about the known Vs. his is missing the logo I think.

Thank you.:jim

Yes sir, I'm an old skateboarder from back in the '80s. I have quite a few Hosoi, Caballero, Hawk and Lance boards. Some are signed and some are my old survived boards. Had my own Half and Quarter pipe, Mini, street ramps, etc... I competed in quite a few tournaments, mainly ramp around Memphis from 1984 - 1989. Some of the best days of my life. :salude

Yes. I love Welagen amps. Jelle really knows tone. IMO

I don't think it was ever recovered. Though, everything is original to my V, the only thing that was missing was the knobs and the logo, so we took from a special and skylark. The knobs it had were white witch hats with set screws. Looked killer.:yah

Oh cool -- I loved skateboarding in the mid to late 1970s and early '80s. I remember having an assortment of Tony Alva and Duane Peters decks, Powell-Peralta wheels, and Tracker trucks. I had a short piece in an early issue of Thrasher magazine when Cherry Hill Skatepark closed in New Jersey around 1981 or so. The next year, my wheels became much bigger and self-propelled, and I retired from skateboarding. :salude
