• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I can't tell any difference on how the Bigsby feels with the Vibramate Spoiler on it. It only changes how the strings are anchored. I'll put up a photo on Monday with one on a guitar. The big difference is how easy it makes to change strings, only need two hands not three.

I love it, and I would NOT remove the Bigsby. Unless it's killing sustain in a big way?

This is how the Vibramate Spoiler looks when attached to the Bigsby. Guitar is an ES-355. I can't tell a difference in the feel of the Bigsby with it on. Just makes string changes a heck of a lot easier.

Bigsby is staying on, at least for now... It's not killing sustain or anything else. I only difference is I usually play 11's but prefer 10's in this baby... :dude:

Looks great, love the Bigsby. It's fairly quick and easy to remove the dogbone and revert to wraptail without any need to remove the Bigsby.

Just roll the ball end of the strings around a ballpoint pen body before installation. No need for that gaudy Vibramate contraption.

If it was me, I'd leave it exactly as it is. That is my kinda Goldtop and I think it looks right and I know how they sound. I've used Bigsbys a lot and the string thing is a no brainer for me. I have a pair of special short nosed small pliers that I can grip the ball of the string with and do a half wrap to pre bend the string. I slip it under and onto the pin thread it onto the tuner and it's done.

But that said it is only how I like Gold Tops and how I use 'em. Whatever you do I'm sure it will be a killer guitar for you.

I prebend the string like you guys do but then I use a capo to hold the string down around mid fretboard.
It's no problem putting it in the tuner after that.

I like it with the Bigsby. I would recommend getting a Vibramate for the Bigsby, makes string changes a breeze. Is there much of a shadow from the Bigsby? Nice acquisition!

No shadow under bridge.. at least none I can see :dude:
