• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Finally got a CF-100

I first saw one being played by Leon Redbone in the 70s. Always liked the look and the idea of a cutaway on a vintage acoustic. This one, needing work, proved affordable for me so I made an offer that I thought was reasonable (less than half of the asking price) and got it.

Tuners are crap replacements so I have some single-line strip tuners on the way. Could use a reset but it's playable now. Big crack on bass side near soundhole with loose brace to be fixed. Needs frets. Lot's of "mojo" and it sounds good ass expected with the an ancient spruce top with x-bracing.

Never seen one of those IIRC, badass!! I'd tear into that sucker with the cutaway and all. That's the kind of thing I hope to run into at the pawn shops down south but, alas, luck hath not struck yet.

Got it strung up with new strings (12s) and have been playing it. Sounds killer. Way bigger sound than one would expect. Very punchy and solid long decay with that X-bracing. Very similar to vintage LG with better wooden belly bridge and fancier neck-bound fretboard with trapezoid inlays like Les Paul and the MOP logo and crown. Loving it!
