• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

275 year old Tulip Poplar tree , and the hickory wood from a Poplar tree . 1998 Tornado took trees out. President Andrew Jackson name is inlaid on the headstock and his nickname "Old Hickory " is inlaid on the Hickory fingerboard .The inlay of the Hermitage Mansion is inlaid on the pickguard. Inlays are made of mother of pearl . There is an inlay of mother of pearl going across the body of the instrument noting important dates in President Andrew Jackson's life .

https://americanhistory.si.edu/collections/search/object/nmah_1203028 also found - https://reverb.com/item/610067-gibson-custom-shop-1959-les-paul-oak-top-korina-back Looks like these were made in 1998 ,funny I thought these were from 10 year later or so ? I seem to remember a flood or storm took the tree out and thus the run was born ?
Thanks for the links. I was originally talking about the Oak/Korina model.

The Old Hickory…I forgot about that one. There’s a few different versions I believe.
