• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I have a 1971 Gibson ES320TD in cherry. Prior owner removed the multiplex bridge (same as on SG100, 250), and put on a Kahler. The routing job he did was pretty bad, and I used a pice of 100 year old barn maple to patch the routed area. I was able to secure a harmonica bridge and posts, and I actually found the bridge cover with the Gibson logo etched on it! (That took about 4 months to find).

The piece that eludes me is the "plate" that mounts to the body, which has the "claw" at the bottom (6 slots for strings), and posts for the harmonica bridge. I cant find this anywhere.....is there anyone out there who knows where I can look for this?

Many thanks in advance.

Let me look in my parts box.

I had one at one time.

Show me the guitar.

The third picture on the right is the guitar as I got it with modified bridge. The first two shots are the reversal of modification, still needing the plate referenced in my original post.

Thanks!

Let me check.

I had them on an SG250 which I modified back in the 70's.

Bear with me.

Got some crap going on I have to deal with before I can get to the box it may be in.

The bridge you have may not be correct.

As I recall: the bridge was just a piece of folded metal which sat over the plate you are seeking.

Over those large tabs sticking up.

Hello;

You are correct, the current bridge on the guitar is not correct. The actual bridge consists of the plate, in my photo above, which has the "claw" for the string posts, the posts (see the screw holes), and the harmonica Bridge itself, which sits on the posts, very similar to the ABR1. I have attached a couple more pics which may aid in understanding. The second picture is probably the best representation of the different components. And dude, I will have the patience of Job.

Yeah, that second pictures is what I have if I can find it.

Mine had metal intonation bridge parts though.

Looks like I have everything BUT.

So sorry for the wait.

It has been many many years since I had that fiddle and I must have kept the claw on it.

My friend,, no apology necessary, I greatly appreciate you looking so diligently. I will tell you, the bridge covers are going for a couple hundred bucks on Reverb. The other parts are in demand, as well.

Happy Holidays,

Wish it worked out.

I found a lot of other interesting stuff in that box.

Dawned on me I did that 45-50 years ago but I still don't remember leaving that claw on the finished guitar.
