• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I got my '83 Cherry 335 out yesterday. I brought it home, tuned it up, and plugged it in.

Even with the old dead strings, the Shaws made the guitar sound great. I the tone was actually a little on the bright side. I
heard that these guitars have the 300k volume and 100k tone pots, and these were supposed to make the guitar sound woofy
and lifeless.

The tone was actually very articulate, and even the neck pickup sounded clean and smooth without being bass heavy.

After I get this guitar properly set up and have all the hardware cleaned, I'm going to give it some good stage time.

Here are a few quick pics I took yesterday:

I played a Blonde from this era Custom Shop I believe. Great player and sounding. One of the better 335's I've played.
Congratulations, looks really clean.

Thanks Maple. I'm really eager to get it properly set up so I can start playing it live.

I hope to be able to have it done by next week. It's going to seem like forever.

Nothing wrong w/ a good Dot Neck from the 80's. Looks like it's in 'as new' condition...?

Congrats :jim
