I got my '83 Cherry 335 out yesterday. I brought it home, tuned it up, and plugged it in.
Even with the old dead strings, the Shaws made the guitar sound great. I the tone was actually a little on the bright side. I
heard that these guitars have the 300k volume and 100k tone pots, and these were supposed to make the guitar sound woofy
and lifeless.
The tone was actually very articulate, and even the neck pickup sounded clean and smooth without being bass heavy.
After I get this guitar properly set up and have all the hardware cleaned, I'm going to give it some good stage time.
