• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Good weight. Nice dark fret board. Just enough VOS to leave as-is or clean. One of the better Fade finishes I've seen, too.

Nothing wrong with understated flame tops... very vintage vibe!

'Boat Wake' indeed ;)

I am looking to buy this guitar - the weight is 8.2lbs and is in very good ungigged condition.

I was looking for one with a bit more flame but I quite like the more understated flame on this one.

Price is £4,500 firm in the UK.

Appreciate any comments/opinions.

She is a beauty and I love her color and figure ! Plus the figure pops in different angles and light as well . She is beautiful !

I am a big fan of "non-textbook" LP tops. That's one. How's the neck?

Down to taste.

Can you play them? That's the way to decide.

Feel and acoustic resonance rules!

Looks alone, I prefer 'Boat Wake' ... although I am partial to flecks and mineral streaks, which the second has.

Looks-wise, it is a toss-up. Play them both and one will grab your heart, or maybe neither will and the search will continue. It is so hard to be patient with these things.

I rather like it and prefer it to the second one you posted, although I'd like to see other pics of that one before making a commitment. :)

have you seen both in person? flame looks so different vs photos.

I love the lighter ones as I find a nice correlation between weight and tone. 8.2 is very light! I'd get that one. Love the top too.

All the same guitar:

Personally I love the first ones top. I’d do that one over a tightly bookmatched top just because I like ‘em kinda wild looking.
