Original PAF’s high readings?

So I came across a guitar equipped with original 1959 and 1960 PAF’s, and was surprised to see that they read 8.8k (neck) and 9.1k (bridge) taken at the output jack, so the bridge is more like 9.3k.

Is it usual for these pickups to read so high?
Are hotter ones like these considered more/less desirable?

Thank you
