• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I like the Blues Driver. Not so middy as a tube screamer. Does a nice marshally buzz. It makes my fender amps sound like cranked marshalls.

I liked my Mk II Professional Tonebender, but any Tonebender will get it done right.

Time warp alert! The original post was from 2006. Anyway, there is a pedal that was designed specifically to address the "non-master volume amp overdrive at reasonable volume levels" problem- Origin Effects Revival Drive. This is the way.

I'll be the odd man out...I have an SV20C, and I'm using a Klon KTR (always on) and a TS-808, and I'm all using a Weber attenuator for especially quiet playing when needed. I use a jumper between channels, and dial the volume to the edge of break up. The KTR gives things a really nice fullness and a modest push - the TS goes on for leads.

I could not believe how much I liked this pedal, in any of my classic non master low gain amps. Even makes the over pushed drive monsters sound better, dialed down and master up. Sounds great direct too. They make a smaller, more affordable version, I think would sound just as nice.
