• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

PAF's couldn't believe my ears...

Recently had the opportunity to play a friend's 69 LP GT with PAF's installed, before and after. What I heard kind of ruined me. The PAF's created this "chime" that layed on top of the notes played. Not a huge difference from the previous T-Tops but very noticeable and pleasing to the ear. I'm totally ruint...

And I too will be ruint when I get to play em.

My offer still stands, a warm 6 pack for those PAF's,.....your thinking
about it arent you?

I have a 2002 R-0 with the full Historic Makeovers RDS package. I have a zebra PAF in the bridge, a late `62 Pat.# in the neck and a complete matched set of 1960 Centralab 500K pots. None of those are ever coming out.. It has that extra "special sauce". All the other parts are vintage.

I am always amazed at the clarity PAFs have. That above all else is what gets me. Even driven they retain this level of uncanny note definition that nothing else I’ve tried can’t quite replicate. Close, but not the same.

I've been working a lot this past month and will be, up until Thanksgiving. So I decided to treat myself... PAF's should arrive today!

My world turned upside down when I watched a couple videos of Chris Buck playing vintage late-50s LP with stock PAFs in them. As he described it, they almost sounded like Teles. I’d say the sounded like Teles on roids.

My experience exactly. I see you’re from Hobart. Cool to see fellow Regionite posting on LPF!

By way of Los Angeles... what a long, strange trip it’s been. Haha

My 2002 R8 has real PAF’s (covers never off). My girlfriend thought I was NUTS when I dropped $4K on two old square silver things. “What’s wrong with the two square silver things that came with the guitar?” LOL.
