• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I'm surprised nobody has posted this here yet! Looks like a gem of a 1960 burst has recently surfaced in France.

I think you gave the answer yourself in the thread title.. ;)
Thanks for posting it, looks like a very nice early '60 example.

This guitar, serial # 0 2XXX, was brought in by the former's owner heirs for an estimate. They didnt know the existance of this guitar as they found it when emptying the owner'a house, stored and forgotten since 1968 after he stopped playing it as a begginer.
The guitar appears to be 100 % original, unfaded and in exceptional condition., a few nicks here and there. Tuners buttons are crumbling and the first two frets are slightly worn.
The guys in the video didn't find a way to check the unoppened PAF's bobbins color.

Wow, if that is the case, that makes two “abandoned” sunburst Les Pauls that have appeared in the space of 2 or 3 weeks.

The story is that a man once came to the owner's father's tailor shop and wanted to pay for a suit with the guitar. It's weird, because it looks like receiving stolen goods.

I'm a humble mechanic, and have been in nearly identical situations. I wouldn't suspect this was ever a laundering of stolen goods.

I might be wrong, but first they say the stop tail is 27g. And then vingt-trois = 23 grams. Do I hear that wrong?
