• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Interesting theoretical post from the other forum….

Actually, this is ingenious! Paul buys this guitar, fully knowing that it's a fake...and pays "fake" price for it. Has it restored, and then insures it for the value of a normal 'burst (has GM "authenticate" it for him and give him an appraisal; meanwhile, the insurance company probably doesn't know the difference). Breaks it on stage, and collects on the insurance claim. With the proceeds, goes and buys himself a real 'burst! I like the way "he" thinks! :thumb: :naughty:

I remember an interview with him a few years ago that focused on his painting. In it, he said he sold most of his guitars including his bursts. I wonder what has inspired him to acquire more now?

Here's what Paul has to say about the Duchess' restoration:

"Here'th "the duthethth". Elite bloodlineth but fell out of favor from circumthtantheth beyond her control. Reinthtated to her former plathe in the royal family with help and a great refin from my friend gord miller at gm vintage."

therial #90607

"buying a vintage thunburtht leth paul in need of tlc ith a lot like getting a pedigree pure bred from the rethcue pound. You know the potential. You know what it can be if rehabilitated and you altho have no idea why thomeone did what they did to it. But theeing it after it'th been nurthed back ith definitely worth all the time and effort.”

Paul Stanley is an avid player of Gibson guitars, and I certainly hope he enjoys owning that 59 Les Paul. He owns a bunch...
