• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Check out the great footage of joe Perry’s burst on YouTube Aerosmith klivr at the summit Houston Texas June 25 1977. Interesting he didn’t have the covers on the pickups.
I remember having a early Aerosmith poster in my room and this is the guitar Joe had. I was searching for a tobacco burst my whole life because of this guitar. Lol.

Great to see this guitar being played in Aerosmith’s hey day.

Yeah I wish I would have gotten my hands on one of those when they were affordable. I did get a kindred burst with a Carmelita neck that that approximates the color that I’m really happy with. But I do love those

The 2019 60th anniversary 59 kindred burst, that's the one I have. I also have been been scrolling the web for years through tons of tobacco burst for one like it, , was going to purchased a 2015 true historic but the color fading on the bottom of the mapletop is not right, sometimes I even thought of doing the Historic makeovers with a LP standard USA, until now. This one in my opinion is even more accurate and cheaper than the 2013 Perry version. I'm doing some upgrades since the pickguard has never been 59 correct, and other minor changes.

A picture of Eric Johnson with the Perry burst when he owned it:

Many years ago when I lived in Dallas I saw 14 EJ shows in the space of 29 months but regrettably that was after he had sold 9 0663.

I believe EJ referred to 9 0663 as 'Hard Times' which considering the guitar's collective history would seem somewhat appropriate. LOL
