• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Just listening to old FM era Peter Green takes me away from all of this. :ganz

BTW: I have never, ever heard a single person refer to Peter as the guy who covered a Santana song.
Everybody knows Carlos had the bigger hit, and most people think it is a Santana song. But those who know Peter know he wrote it. That's one of the first things newcomers learn when they first hear about Peter. Then they hear the FM version.

IIRC, The whole deal first went public on all the guitar forums because somebody chosen to babysit the guitar for a few hours couldn't keep a secret and started blabbing the story of the sale everywhere.

BTW, found this on Mav's site, never seen it before. Is this for Greenie or Stripe

The date on this document is unreadable. :bigal
Stripe remained in Gary's ownership until his death.
I doubt Gary's heirs sold it to Phil Winfield.

Listened to all 3 volumes of Live in Boston today. Peter and Dannys "weaving" for want of a better word is outstanding. Got the Complete Blue Horizon Sessions on now :2cool

I haven't heard someone say it directly. When I have mentioned Black Magic Woman, Santanas name comes up first which is a result of the success. Credit to Carlos he always points out it is Greeny's tune.

Same thing happens when I mention "Going Down" and then Freddie King gets mentioned.

Reads June 3, 2006 to me. That's how that date is normally interpreted in the USA.

6th March 2006. Other way around in the UK. Chronological order so day, month, year.

Not sure it's a good idea to have a telephone number showing at the top of this form :ganz

It wouldn't bother me in the slightest how many and the type of hands that have been on this guitar. For me it would be all about the guitars history and tone, and I'd not be looking to 'flip' it anytime soon. After 10yrs these shenanigans will all have been forgotten about, the music will still be alive.

I didn't notice that at first, everything else is blacked out but I see your point. I'm not quite sure why Maverick has this image on their site but I thought it is relevant to this thread.

Peter has said a number of times he doesn't want it.
Gary didn't want to sell it but had to for financial reasons. How about give it back to his family?

Truth is I'm a bit financially "embarrassed" at the moment, a recent vintage Fcar acquisition has emptied the "fun" pot, so I'd have to trade into it.

That's some "fun" pot, I'd call it my "dream" pot  ...anyway vintage guitars don't compare to vintage Fcar's, is this No. 4? :bug
