Bottom line, the "Guitar Channel" really doesn't have to be about guitars at all. The History Channels shows aliens, the Weather Channel has dramas, MTV doesn't show music videos... :hee

But I digress.

FYI, I heard they did a test run with that guitar shop in Vegas....didn't test too well.

As I mentioned before, concerts/films, and other music-centric programming as well. So look at it more like a music channel, but geared more towards real content and musicianship/enthusiasts....with some real production value behind it.

Here's the Green God in late '66 or early '67:

Who is Peter Green, and what does he have to do with a thread about television content? Jeez.

And the neck pickup is already upside down. When did it happen?

The pickup is actually rightside up...it was the rest of the guitar that was flipped/rotated around it. That's the real secret.

It's all about Greeny, not GM IMO. That was the LP that started it for me. Ten feet from PG at the Fillmore West in 1968. Nobody could come close to what he was doing.
Was there myself, (great show, great time to see many great bands) I understand it was Gary Moore (RIP) who didn't pay much attention to the guitars well being

I was lucky enough to play the Peter Green Les Paul while Gary Moore owned it. It came into a guitar shop I worked in with a broken headstcock!!! If I remember right it had a huge baseball neck.

For years, I had assumed it was a bit before the time of the 1967 Reading Blues Festival, (August) as PG had then covered the top of his Burst with Black Fablon because he thought Bursts were a bit 'too common' and wanted a different 'look' ... I had assumed it was around then that he might have messed around taking the pickups/hardware off to do this, as putting sticky fablon, (aka 'contact') over something is quite fiddly to do to avoid 'bubbles'...

More recently, though, I saw a pic from early '67 where his Burst already had that reversed neck pickup orientation ... So, I'm thinking it was done around Spring '67 ... 'The Supernatural', (when PG was with John Mayall) was recorded late '66 with the neck pickup absent from the guitar and the album 'A Hard Road' released Feb '67.

Isn't there a photo of the GreenBurst with the neck pickup out of it? I thought I had one but can't find it.

I found the Feb. '67 photo with the pickup reversed already.
