This has most likely been looked at before but thought I'd take readings of the pickup outputs of some of my guitars. I know magnets and other factors affect output too but was just interested in what the readings were compared to how they sound. Around 8ohs seems to be the average and pretty consistent through the years. I also included My Music Man Axis with very hot wound pickups for ref.

That 69 T-top SG bridge value is odd. Can't say the 69 half T-top half PAT NO or PAF is odd because I have seen that. Which bobbin has the T-top?

The SG T-tops look factory sealed with Pat No stickers. All solder joints look untouched so maybe a hot one slipped through or my meter is a little off but some of the other readings seem pretty much in the range. The 69 LPC bridge pick up has two PAF bobbins. The neck pick up is PAF for the slug end and T Top for the screw end.

Same as the 68 or 69 that I saw. It was a Custom as well. Wonder if that happens all the way back to 65? I am going to take a wild guess that it is just the gold pickups because I haven't seen much talk about that.

6k to 8.5k ohms DC resistance seems to be the magic number for my ear.

I have a set of custom pickups from that era. I am not at home right now, but they are all 7.X K. Something like 7.3 to 7.9. I can measure the bridge, middle and neck exactly the next time I am home if you really need to know. About the only other difference I can mention about them is that one them has steel bobbin screws. I should also mention that they are all black bobbin as that might play a factor.
