Been thinking about removing the covers from my smartwood pickups.
Purely cosmetic, any tips or advice would be appreciated.

Whats this wax filled? Will there be wax under the cover that will need cleaning off?

You can melt the wax off/out with a hairdryer or space heater.
You'll never get it to sound like an un-potted pickup, but I have done this to several pickups and I feel it improves the sound.
But I much prefer un-potted pickups.

Thanks,
I was thinking more for cosmetic looks rather than sound, my playing will sound aufull whatever I usešŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚
Just like the look of uncovered pickups.
