Hi everyone,

I received a really cool 2001 LP Classic today.

It had a few changed parts...the knobs, pickguard, tailpiece, and more importantly the pickups have been swapped out.

Can anyone ID what they are? I don't of course for a moment think they are real PAFs! but it would be nice to know.

I had a play with them today through my Friedman Smallbox 50 and they sounded cool...a bit dark maybe, but I need to spend some more time with them.

Here are some photos of the bridge pickup, the neck pickups looks the same:

Looks like a BurstBucker, maybe a BB pro since it's got so much wax residu showing. Nice guitar!!

Most likely 57 Classics, a good pup IMO.

They definitely sound really cool!
A friend of mine also has a similar Classic that had the original pickups for a long time and the pickups on mine are nowhere near as hot...them things were flame-throwers!

Tone trumps heat, IMO. I like and use the 57 Classic pups on a few guitars, they sound real good but I do change the covers.
