Recently I just moved into a house where I get my own room/office. During the move I came across my collection of press release photos of musical artist. I want to frame them and hang them in my office. Anyone have any ideas how I can do this without spending a ton of money?

Have you poked around Amazon? They should have loads of inexpensive frames to choose from. Buy a couple and see if their quality is okay for your needs, and go from there.

I framed some of my band’s gig flyers and it was not too expensive. If you search with patience you might find a business that doesn’t break the bank. Amazon is also an option like Ed said.

Remember: when framing rock stuff, less is more: choose simple, solid color frames

Sometimes we've poked around Goodwill stores, and bought pictures so we can use the frame.

Thanks for your replies and ideas. Yes. Simple black frames should do the trick. My sister came by and suggested Michael's Arts and Crafts store (they're common where I live) and Hobby Lobby (also common). I'll go check them out. Really trying to avoid Amazon as much as possible. Easier to do now that I'm retired. Goodwill looks worth checking out, too.

Do a bit of local research of stores in your area. Focus on locally owned shops. Better to patronize them than have your $s go to some corporate office somewhere far away. Keep your $ in the community. This should be very easy to do for something like picture frames.

But the local guys are probably going to be expensive.

Picture framing is an art in itself.

I have spent oodles on frames by locals.

Worth every dime every time, but not for the faint of heart...

Please define "ton of money?" For a photo exhibit I did a couple of years ago I went to an arts & crafts store and bought a mess of simple black photo frames. I now have the photos displayed on my walls everywhere, and I probably spent less than $100. Some of the photos I had made as wraps, so not every photo has the same look to it, but for my purposes, $100 wasn't exorbitant.

As I understand you. In my house, all the walls are decorated with paintings that I have painted. I have never had a great craving for creativity, and recently I accidentally stumbled across paintings on the Internet that need to be drawn by numbers. There are a huge number of paintings themselves, they differ in the level of complexity (you can choose a picture with large margins for painting or very small ones), the image (landscapes, portraits, animals, etc.), there are vertical and horizontal orientations. The set includes a canvas, a set of jars with paints, a set of brushes and an image of the finished painting.I really wanted to try it, and I ordered a painting on this site https://paintingbynumbersshop.com/products/vincent-van-gogh-the-starry-night medium difficulty level. I can say with confidence that I really liked it and I painted this picture in one gulp during the week. Then I couldn't stop and now my walls look very beautiful.

Document frames typically aren’t expensive. Your budget will dictate the quantity you can start off with.

I had a similar situation, but I just wanted to frame the printed albums of my favorite artists to please my studio office. Since I didn't find something suitable on Amazon, I just decided to look for online frames that fit the design of my office. After a long search, I finally found Picture Framing Online, where I could find the right frame that would fit the design of the office, but also not much out of sight of the albums. In general, for the first time, I saw a site where you can independently choose a frame for the desired picture and at the same time without spending a lot of time and money on it.

Congratulations on your new office space! Framing your collection of press release photos of musical artists is a fantastic idea to personalize and decorate your workspace. If you're looking for budget-friendly options, here are a few suggestions:

Thrift stores and flea markets: Check out local thrift stores or flea markets for affordable picture frames. You can often find unique and stylish frames at a fraction of the cost compared to buying them brand new.

DIY framing: Consider framing the photos yourself using inexpensive materials. You can purchase basic wooden frames or even repurpose old frames by giving them a fresh coat of paint. Online tutorials and resources can guide you through the process of cutting mats and assembling the frames.

Online deals and discounts: Keep an eye out for online sales and discounts on framing materials. Websites like Art of Paint by Numbers (https://artofpaintbynumbers.com/) might offer affordable options for frames that can suit your needs.

Simple poster frames: For a more cost-effective solution, consider using simple poster frames. These frames are often available in standard sizes and can be found at affordable prices in office supply stores or online. While they may not offer the same level of customization as custom frames, they can still provide a clean and polished look.

Remember, the goal is to showcase your collection and create a visually appealing display that reflects your musical interests. With a little creativity and resourcefulness, you can find budget-friendly framing options that will allow you to enjoy your press release photos in your new office space.

Hobby Lobby and Michael’s usually do 50% off sales on frames every other week. Most of them come with a mat as well. Over the pandemic I went back to school and got my masters then I did an MBA just to keep from getting bored.

I’ll never use either degree, but I went and dug my BA out and framed all three for my home office, I think the frames were about $20 each on sale.

for pure saving, it's hard to beat a dozen black frames for 30 bucks on amazon, but that's where our economy went. sold out by cheap off-shore crap.

PR photos are 8x10 so that's a very common size. Thrift stores usually have tones of 8x10 picture in frames with glass. spray them all black and re-use!
