• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Sorry, but i have to ask for this one, as there are not many around.
Mods, if this is against the rules, please delete.
What you guys think is a fair price for a 2007 R4 Oxblood? Guitar is clean, changed Pu, but original Pu is there. Just Vos versions, not the later signed ones.
I see ads from some time ago, list them for 3500 Euro (sold) and actual listings for 6500Euros. Seems like a big difference. Ebay and reverb is not a big help here.
Thank you for your thoughts.

You couldn't pry my Oxblood from my cold dead hands. You could offer me 50 billion dollars and I would tell you "No." The Oxblood is truly priceless.

But I'd say $4200+/-

My actual advice would be to start your listing a little high, but entertain offers from people. If one like yours is sitting for sale at 6500 Euros and has not sold yet then that price might be a little high. I think 4200 is a fair price but you might find someone who will pay 5000. Maybe you should start your listing at 5500 and let people make offers?

Remember: No one will pay more than a new M2M one, with warranty... unless you can sell them on mojo.

I wouldn't pay more, or even buy a "M2M" Oxblood over an early one with Schaller tuners built by Edwin Wilson. You're crazy.

Aladin Sane...

Then again, I am keeping my Stinger JB 54. Not Oxblood but a great top picked by Dave Carpenter under the Gembar/Wilson regime!

Those are the very best guitars ever built at Gibson, in my opinion. Let the secret of The Oxblood remain.

Just an update: guitar arrived and is "as promised"... sounds awesome, plays awesome!

These wrap tail R4 style guitars just have "something" that makes them sustain just a little more... I have a regular goldtop R4 as well.

For those who haven't taken the plunge on either the Jeff Beck or an R4... DO IT... you'll be pleasantly surprised!
