• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Hi Matt!

If it´s a "real" blackface Super Reverb (like, a ´63-´67 model) that´s a STEAL.
Even if it´s a recent reissue, that´s a decent price.

cheers - 68.

I don't buy these vintage amps without looking at the circuit board. That could be a bargain if the interior of the amp is correct, or it could be a player grade amp that is not worth a dime more than that. Originality and condition....nothing else matters. I have seen more than one BF FEnder that was exc codn and original according to all codes on the outside....chart, trannies, speakers, etc......but everything inside had been gutted and rebuilt...very well rebuilt....but nothing inside was orignal except for the bias pot on both of these amps....all other pots, resistors and caps were brand new. Thsoe were player amps that looked really good and were worth half of what had been paid for them.
That said, at $700 one has to be interested for sure....because that is a price that accommodates almost any change as long as the amp is in good working condition.

That sounds like a good deal. I got $1000 for my '66 a few years ago with replaced speakers (blown originals included), other replaced parts and repairs. The amp was clean but almost a basket case when I received it.

Lets see some Chassis innards pics. Serial numbers and pics of the outside of the amp too. Then and only then can anyone render a good idea of what you're looking at price wise.

If you aren't really an amp guy...don't pull the trigger until we get chassis innards shots...serial numbers for PT, OT, RT, Choke, and amp, and cosmetic pics too.

On the face of it...$700 is a KILLER price. But....(see above)

Hmmmm.........I would still have had to take a look at it. I would give $700 for someting like that in good working order before I would give any amount of money for a PCB SRRI. And...that $700 was an asking price, right? An informed buyer might find that amp to be a great bargain as a player amp...and get it for less than the asking price by pointing out fine details...like that serial number.

i tried to reason with the guy, and i didnt really want it as a player, i have a 65 fender concert, and a 65 bassman for fender stuff it was more of the idea of getting it and fliping it.

he seemed to think it was worth 700 and that was as low as he was going period end of story. others are out there always on the hunt found a 50 watt sound city for 400 bucks now thats a deal haha
