Decided to take a trip down memory lane...one of my favorite 80s songs from one of my top 10 80s bands. I think the lead guitarist Matthias Jabs is criminally underrated in the 80s lead guitarist scene.

I think I used to play it a bit differently way back then, but change is life as they say.

Hope you enjoy!

Nice playing, Jabs is somewhat in the shadow of Michael Schenker and Uli Roth. Underrated but a great guitarist in his own right.

Thanks for the kind words. I think most fans would likewise agree and say "in the shadows" but I guess he more than made up for that with the album sales later on. I guess life is fair? Haha

Most will disagree with me, but I was never into the pioneer types- early Hendrix, early Clapton, Blackmore, Uli...you know those folks who really set off the fireworks, and I respect them for that...

but the breed of SRV, later Clapton, Eric Johnson (my top top favorite), Yngwie, Schenker brothers (to a much lesser extent with Rudolf) & Matthias Jabs, John Sykes, VH, JB...the folks who took that stuff and really ran away with it to stratospheric levels and much more technically polished..those folks are more to my liking- it's not just the guitar- the songwriting as well (as you already said)

Nicely done, P. Walker! I like that stuff as well. Check out the first album by Moxy with Tommy Bolin on guitar (1976).

Great playing! The Scorpions' "Blackout" and "Love At First Sting" albums are like celebrations of humbuckered guitars and cranked Marshall amps! I love them!!!

Back in the '80s, when everyone was into guitar pyrotechnics, when someone would dog on "Rock You Like A Hurricane" for being stupidly simple (duh duh duh - duh duh - duh duh - duh - duh duh), I would challenge them to play the solos. That would shut them up in a hurry! :spabout
