• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Picked this up a few days ago and it's an amazing guitar! The aging is mostly done really well, especially the hard parts (finish etc), however..

..they missed a lot of the details. The guitar even looks a bit incoherent this way so I am going to have to try aging these parts myself . It's a bit strange that ML didn't finish the job. They left out some of the seemingly easy to do details (strap buttons, toggle switch, thumb wheels, knob pointers, plastics, barely aged screws and pickup covers).

Haha..good point..not sure I have that kind of time available to me.

I may have to steal some parts from my decades old USA LP standard

Thank you (och tack så mycket)!

It is a fine instrument to be sure. I haven't even been able to plug it in yet, and perhaps I'm imagining it, but I hear the kind of high frequency acoustic resonance in these new Gibsons that I find in a vintage guitar.

That's a fairly common complaint or pet peeve that hardware aging doesn't match the rest of the guitar, and it's not a new one. Nice guitar.

When I got mine a year ago, none of the plastics or metal parts had been aged. I put on some ThroBak aged covers, more correct tuners, a real vintage switch ring, a pickguard from Creamtone, ThroBak pickup rings, Creamtone back plates, a vintage jack plate & knobs. The T-o-M is a Four Uncles and a vintage Stop Tail and a vintage TRC. oh, and a NOS set of 500K Centralab pots & Sprague Bee's. It looks the part and sounds the part!

I had the same "problem" with my 60th Anniversary M2M R9 Aged. I changed ALL plastics and hardware to DMC/Area 59 stuff. Much, much better.tempImage6JQelY.png

I'm going to try a 60s patent number bridge on it.
