Does anyone know where I can get the CORRECT gold powder?
Thanks.

I know you spray guitars, and have tremendous amount of knoledge of the Vintage sector and then some, but I have to be completely honest with you, the only person that I would ever have shoot my Goldtop or a 58 Gold tTop would be Dave Johnson. At the moment there is not a single person on the face of this earth that can duplicate the color, texture, thickness, and natural aging process better than Dave. Are there companies and guys that do good work, hell yes, but at this moment Dave has it nailed. If you go back to Anderswe's 58 Goldtop that was all red including the binding that Dave restored, that will put the nail in the coffin. I have on many occasions been in situations to work deals on Goldtops, but my biggest deal killer was the refin. The Value of a 58 would be tremendously improved in People's eyes if Dave did the refin.:salude

OH by the way, my guy here locally is a fantastic Nitro Sprayer, we have the original powder, and have tried so many different types of amber and even letting the bronze powder sit in a bottle of nitro for months to green and we still haven't gotten there.

Thanks for the advice but I myself have
"put the nail in the coffin" on more than a few in my time and I am not worried about the aging. I just need the powder.

It would be great if more guys, like JJB work on getting the gold finish right [if they haven't already, and I bet JJB has ]. Seems the powder is key.

Surely someone here is "adept" at scoring some powder? :ganz

Cresent bronze powder company or something like that. If you look it up on the search it prolly will show. There were two different number batches which Dan E suggested that work. Supposedly this was the same company that Gibbo got it from.

How about that! I was the one who started that thread asking the same question 2 years ago! I may not look it but I guess I'm getting old!

Great finish!! But for my personal tastes, it has too much green . Old goldtops can look very different from one to the other and my favorite look is that really ambered deep gold. I had an original like that and that one is the one I always strive to copy.

Just the lighting, my 56 that was done looked green in pics but actually different in person.

Same guitar as above,
