Hi folks, I’m new here, please be kind if this isn’t in the right area or I make other blunders. I’m looking at picking up a 93 LP classic in a trade. I’ve already pretty much agreed to the deal, but I’m still trying to get a handle on what it’s worth. Serial number is 3 3120. It’s an Amber flame top (AA). Pick ups have been replaced with a PAF alnico 5 and Seymour Duncan pearly gates. The controls have also been hot rodded, 500k pots and vitamin q pio caps. Also has a pearloid pick guard. I don’t believe any of the original parts come with the guitar. To me, this appears to be a guitar that has been upgraded to be a real player’s instrument, and obviously not a collectors piece. Oh I forgot it also has been refretted with the bigger Dunlop frets. I’ve only seen pictures of it so far, but it appears to be in beautiful condition, and the owner says it plays very well. The neck joint and head stock transition appear to be pristine.
I’m still just curious of what the real market value is for a guitar that has been modified to this extent. Your wisdom is appreciated.
