• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

That was excellent. Thanks.

Need to get this album. I'm a fairly recent convert to Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. I've always been aware, but suddenly got really into them.

Mike Campbell is a truly brilliant guitarist. Love the sound of that SG, and the 'Burst tone is out of this world.

Very cool. It's amazing what real live musicians playing together in a room can do. I always thought Mike Campbell was great..but i never heard him play nothin' like that (7:25 when he lets loose for a moment) before!

Even though I know the tone is in the fingers, that 'burst rips.

That's a big room.

No Separation of the drums?:ganz

I guess they're going for that live vibe.

As long as they're happy with that.

During the video they discussed the fact that they weren't planning to do a bunch of overdubs. They were apparently using the Joe Walsh "line up the amps, turn 'em up to 10, break off the knobs, and then play" recording philosophy.

Yes, I was wondering the same thing.....banned, dead or discovered "Spankwire"? Either way welcome back, ya 'ole bastard! :hee

For me, it's great to see this band and especially Mike Campbell getting the appreciation they deserve. And finally a record where he gets to really show how fucking amazing he really is.

Over in England for decades no-one I spoke to ever seemed to know much about them, let alone who Mike Campbell was. Or at best Petty was/is regarded as a kind of second division Bruce Springsteen which kind of hacks me off. I guess you lot over there knew better all this time? :salude
