• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Replica Les Pauls show em!!

Hi All,

Thanks to our Mods we now have permission to post our Replicas builds.

Please note I have been advised that under no circumstances are headstock logos allowed to be displayed.

Lets's respect our mods decision as I think this is a great step forward for our forum.

Let's not turn this thread into a debate about replica vs fake etc,

There are a members that own both bursts & replicas and I thought it would make a great conversation topic & a place for us guys who do own them to hang :salude

Without further to do here's my Replica

:wow Thanks Tony. :eek:la

On a serious note, this is a great move forward as we need to have publicly listed reference points to ensure Replicas are well known & cannot be passed off as Vintage to some unsuspecting sucker who does not do due diligence.

On a more flippant note, I have never seen you type so many lines before Tony. :rofl

Looking forward to posting pics on the weekend. :peace2

:teeth

Cheers, Rudi

This is a 1984 Guitar Trader "Special". I verified its authenticity with Timm Kummer, well-known guitar dealer who worked at Guitar Trader back in the day. After Guitar Trader finished selling the Gibson-built run of guitars built to Guitar Trader specs that was started in 1982, the dealer decided to make some of their own for a short while, until they received a "cease and desist" order from Gibson's attorneys. We aren't showing headstocks here, but if you saw it you would realize that something is wrong because the Gibson inlay is very funky looking. The guitar is well built and actually had some features that were more authentic than the Gibby built reissues at the time, including no-wire ABR-1, long neck tenon, etc.

Stoj-

That is really nice! Subtle flame, great color. Looks like an "average" '58 which is nice, as opposed to something gaudy.

Those are some great guitars, guys. I've built a couple, this one being my favorite. It's not a replica because it has my name on the headstock (but I blurred it out anyway) and the specs are wrong (ebony fretboard, real MOP inlays, etc.).
