I'm looking at a used Vox Night Train NT15 but it has no reverb. Anybody recommend a versatile solution that won't end up costing as much as the amp? Boutique pedals are over two hundred bucks used, where I am, and one of the big appeals of the used NT15 is the affordability.

Bear in mind the NT15 has no effects loop.

Thanks in advance.

Found the TC Electronic Skysurfer Reverb pedal online. Youtube clips sound good. Price is low.

I'll take a shot and report back.

I would not discourage anyone from buying this pedal but neither would I encourage them.

I just don't like a totally dry sound, so it's an inexpensive solution to an amp with no built-in reverb -- it's got spring, plate, and hall settings, and a decay knob and a mix knob, so if you set the mix knob low it sounds okay. It also has a tone knob that to my ear doesn't do much.

I definitely don't get the impression that it sounds so good it would benefit from an effects loop. But I also notice that TC Electronic -- whose products are easily available in my neck of the woods -- boast several reverbs, of which the most sophisticated are several times more expensive.

I reckon I've got my money's worth in this one.

Chews up a nine-volt every six hours -- factor the separate adaptor into the cost-effectiveness.
