• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Here is the latest on the once been everly loved Customs of all time.

...as per Gibson.com

Gibson will now use Rosewood fingerboard on the Maduro line and Richlite on the regular Custom.:bigal

Price? Would you buy if for the replacement boards?

The good and bad will soon come out.

Those who have the ebony should hold onto them.

Peace!!

Yeah. Pressed paper-shreds mixed with charcoal and phenolic resin - I may be off a little bit but not much. Now who's crazy - buying a Classic Custom with baked maple (hey, it's a WOOD at least) or a Custom, twice as expensive, with Richlite?

Sad, sad.

Henry will continue to take the piss...

And why not?

He has a huge array of sycophants, who think charging IMMENSE bucks for "historic" Gibsons is a good thing.....

YOU put the company on a pedastal - don't knock it now!!:rofl

PS. I have a VERY nice burst - bought before Henry (and the collectors with more money than sense) got involved in the pricing......:peace2 :peace2 :peace2

I don't get it. It's been a year I guess since Gibson got raided. I can buy guitars with rosewood boards for $199.99 , and Ebony, how much is the cost of an Ebony board, on a $2000.00 plus guitar. I don't think they're trying.
