• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Looks like Gibson Memphis will be releasing a Rich Robinson 1963 ES 335 based of Rich's original 335.

This sounds like a cool idea & well overdue IMO, Rich has been using his original 335 for over a decade now exclusively :yah

Speaking of which, Before The Frost is the best record I've heard in twenty years and Luther Dickinson rips on lead guitars. Rich sure deserves a sig model.

Totally agree Lenny when Before the frost came out a few years back it was some of the Crowes best material they've ever done & you're 100% right with your comments about Luther on lead guitar, I thought when Marc Ford left the BC his void would be very difficult to fill but Luther is a great replacement :salude

Exclusively for a decade? I always thought of Rich of a multi-guitar guy. You just have to check his Rig rundown or the article in Vintage Guitar Magazine. It seems that he has an extensive collection and that he uses quite a few of them.

Nice to see Rich get some love! I also agree about Luther Dickenson, he was a great asset to the Black Crowes "Warpaint" and "Before The Frost" are favorites of mine as well. This most recent version of the band has Jackie Green in place of Luther Dickenson. To be honest, I preferred Luther.

I agree he's a multi guitar guy, however his 335 is definitely his main axe :salude

I am sure to incur some wrath but so be it. Am I the only LPFer who can't understand why (other than more revenues) Gibson issues special "tribute" editions of completely stock guitars (where they made hundreds or thousands of identical guitars, in this case a 1963 ES-335TDC) and portray them as being something unique?

I sold one of these to Rich and bought another back several years later. Also sold him an Esquire after his was stolen in NYC. So he's had a few.

Brought them guitars to SIR on a couple of occassions and was always treated grand.
Oh...their mgt. in L.A. also actually paid for their stuff within a couple of days of sale lol. Great guys...
