I don't know why he thinks they failed. Have not watched it yet.. I never understood reviving them in the first place. NO one was busting banks for an original, let alone a reissue

I got a wicked Joe Perry tone with the ROSS distortion: volume @ max and distortion from noon to full up into a Ampeg or Fender combo.
Used the chorus for my “Leslie”. Back to heebie-jeebies.

item 1 - Listed for 2 months. Not sold and already reduced $225 dollars

item 2 - Also not sold and will never sell at that price.

The vintage guys (fewer and farther between every day) might have some interest in the original one but most buyers today probably have never seen a Ross in person if they had even heard of them at all. Those are the buyers of reissues you need to tap into. We are talking about Ross, not KLON or Dumbles that have some mystique about them.

The vintage pedal reissue market is rather small and reserved for old farts and curious newbies.. The numbers Josh gives reflects that in more detail.. I think his statement on this fact.. was a realistic assessment of the pedal industry and his company.

That said.. the Ross documentary was absolutely fantastic.. and the Ross project was a testament to Josh’s passion and commitment to his craft and industry.

I was just talking to my brother about Ross. His recollection was the same as mine. They were towards the bottom pricewise back in the day, when you couldn't afford a MXR, EH, or Boss. I had a few Ross pedals back then. Distortion, phaser, and flanger. The flanger was cool but super noisy. None were super remarkable IMO. I think for $180 they were just too expensive.
