I'm a new member here though I've been reading these pages for several years and have gained solid knowledge from all of you as well as much enjoyment. Here's my intro thread:http://www.lespaulforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=164051. I've been hoping that I'd have something useful to add on my first post here and I did a search and found that someone had asked for pics of the Rossington 'Burst. I went to the HOF last spring and managed to sneak a photo through the glass display. I hope the pic comes out looking decent and I hope you enjoy it. Thanks to all of you on here for all the good reading over the years :salude :salude :salude

Also here's a pic of the Duanne Fillmore 'Burst hanging alongside the Rossington.

Thanks for the pic. I've never been to the RRHOF, even though it's within driving distance. Just gotta get myself there. Wow! The Rossington 'Burst is pretty hammered!:hmm Lots of wear-n-tear from decades on the road. Also, it's interesting to see that thefingerboard is quite a bit lighter than Dwayne's "Filmore 'Burst". Cool stuff!:applaude

Hey Electric L, Thanks for the welcome. I would say it's deffinately worth the trip. I drove from Chicago back to N.Y. last spring and had to choose a place to spend the night,so I insisted (to my wife) Cleveland so I could visit the HOF and see Hot'lanta and the Rossington. Other than that they have a few other worthwhile things to see. Hot'lanta was still down in the basement just beyond a velvet rope, almost within arms length. You can walk around behind it and oggle it out from all angles. The Rossington is all the way up on the top floor next to a display about Les Paul the person.

I was just at the RR HOF last week. I was really surprised to see three bursts. Duane's burst with the frets on the back of the body truly was within arm's reach downstairs. Did you notice how deep the wear in the back of the body was on Duane's guitar upstairs? I'd say there is perhaps an eighth of an inch of wood missing at the deepest place in the buckle rash area. Couldn't see the screw in the Rossington neck. Three bursts was a bit of a surprise. I spent nearly three hours, mostly looking at guitars. They had a beater tweed Bassmann in the springsteen exhibit. Doesn't Bruce play tweed Super-Amps? An empty stand where Bruce's tele/esquire was supposed to be.

I didn't really see the back of Duane's upstairs 'burst cause when I was there it was hanging in that glass case (see photo above) but Hot'lanta was displayed in such a perfect way that you can see it from several angles up close and see how the flame ripples then disappears at certain angles just like a great 'burst should. They had it on the floor in a guitar stand where you walk up a ramp to see it and down a ramp to get behind it so you see it first at floor level then as you walk around and down the ramp it's at eye level. the only way they could make it better would be to let us take turns playing it!!!
