Original 1960 sunburst on left, and 1964 Murphy on right. Maybe I already posted these? Love them both for different tones and playability, but the Murphy is my gig machine. It has the ThroBak 101+ set in it.

Thanks ! Oh no, 3.5K would be a steal for one currently. Your guitar in mint condition will sell for 4 times that now........ There was a Lifeson 355 listed on Reverb a few weeks ago and it was listed for around 12K CDN, and it appears to have sold. 2 years ago a saw one sell on Reverb for 6K USD. So your guitar has been a good investment! Prices are going up.......... I've been trying to find another Hentor Sportscaster by Freddy Gabrsek. I want one with a low serial # He made one for me about 2 years ago but I sold it due to an investment opportunity that came up. I would imagine a Rush fan like you would have one ?

Thank you. Mine is in pretty good shape. I don't play it a lot, but then I don't play many of my guitars much anymore really. It's really creaming now. In fact, I took it out of the case a few days ago and the back is actually yellowing in one spot now.

Your Hentor was beautiful!!!! Unfortunately, I don't have one, but would certainly love one! I do know Freddy though. Last year, or maybe it was the year before, I sent him my R9 to have a chip repaired. I have no idea how it got there, but you'd never know there was one now.

Wow, that looks great..... He's definitely a talented guy. Funny eh, guys pay thousands for guitars that are ' aged' . I guess I'm like you, natural play wear is fine, but I would probably have chip that touched up as well on my R9. Mine is a 2001 and is in pretty much mint condition. My #1 is a 82 Heritage 80 ... All the wear on it was bar gigs...... 82 was a good year because the Les Paul body especially the horn went back to the proper shape. The late 70's early 80's horn was pointed. Mine also has a really nice top carve which was not really common until they started making the Historic reissues. It's got great flame and a dark cherry burst.

Don't get me wrong, the faux aging looks cool, although some of it can be over the top, but for me, natural play wear is where it's at. My R9 is a '13. As I mentioned, I have no idea how that chip got there?

I don't know if you're familiar with the whole "Volute" issue on the AL 355s, but someday, I may send it to Freddy to have it fixed? I've talked with him about it and it would require an entire re-spray and since I'm retired, I don't have the disposal income that I used to have, so...

I've been playing my Flying V a lot at gigs since early this year...so I decided to take my '61 335 for a spin in Newport Beach a week ago.

1964, sold a couple of years ago along with this 1959.

Owned and played them for 30+years and when I got my I-35s, they stayed home, so they needed new homes.

Kept a 1959 345, which was the best player with best tone.

When I got it in a trade with Gary's, was told it came from Charley Wirz's collection. It was like brand new.

I owned and played 1959 335, 345, and 355 when I got it. So it took a place in a rotation during a period that I didn't play out much, so it stayed pretty clean as one can see.

The fellow I sold it to, Charlie at OK Guitars, who has a bit of experience with thinlines, was pretty happy with its condition when he received it. Periodically checked his site to see if it was for posted for sale to see his write up on it, but if he did I missed it.

It was the type of guitar that folks commented on, remember a very talented you lady vocalist/fiddle player who sat in with us turned to me between tunes and said, "that is such a stunningly beautiful guitar...and it sounds wonderful, as well!" The band leader launched into "Alright Now" with her on stage, a song which a young country artist (she was playing bluegrass festivals) was not familiar with. Gave her the key/chords and she stayed up and took a great solo on fiddle over it. Remember her asking the name of the song after playing it, no recognition of it nor the band Free...made me fell pretty old.
